Nem5 Web Maggic Awards Program Criteria Basics
• Read the criteria before applying. It is here for you to understand what is awarded and what will keep a site from earning an award.
• Children's sites are not eligible for these awards without parental permission and participation. Children's sites must not contain any material that would allow direct contact with the child.
• Originality must be shown using the criteria for each category to win an Award of Excellence. Individual category links are seen on the right side of the criteria pages under View Awards.
• The criteria page outlines the points used in scoring. 100% is a perfect site. It would be the best site imaginable. 0% is a blank page with nothing on it. Scores may not be over 100 or less than 0. Each of the items in the criteria list are worth one point. They add up to 78 possible points. There are 22 points left over to make 100.
• The 22 extra points will be used by staff members to express their opinion of the originality and excellence of a site. Since it is impossible to make set points for something that has never been seen or even thought of before, the more original your site is the better your score will be. We want to see something new or something old as it has never been seen before. No more than 22 extra points may be used.
• Any change that is made to an earned Nem5 Award graphic must come with a request for a letter of permission to do so. Changes include anything that make it other than it was when received, including but not limited to: optimizing, resizing, changing format, reducing or adding color, using any part of the graphic anywhere on your site that it is no longer part of the original exactly as received. If you need the graphic in a different size, please send a request to Nem5. If the change is within reason and will not distort the graphic, a member of the Nem5 Staff will change it for you and a copy of the changed graphic will be kept with your site name on it for future reference. When the change is made without asking, we will notify you that it is not legal to do so and ask that you replace the graphic with the original. If the graphic is not replaced with the original, and/or a request is not made and granted permission to make the change, the site will lose the link as a winner due to copyright infringement.
• Note about awards criteria from Nem5: There are a lot of awards online. The thing that makes each award special and worthy of having is... it's unique criteria. Each award presentation site should have its own set of criteria and its own views of what makes a site worthy of an award. Each award judge has his or her own unique perspective of what each criteria aspect means. These perspectives should not be questioned because they do not agree with everyone's ideals. This is what makes each award unique and worthwhile in its own right. We do not believe any judge should compromise his or her ideals for the sake of "the norm." When we judge a site for an award we shall do so with our own views of what makes a site special. We wish everyone good luck in winning all the awards they try to achieve. We also remind you not to be upset because one judge's view differs from another. This is what makes their award and your winning it special.
• If you still feel your site meets all the requirements, please fill out the Awards Application. Please be patient while waiting for awards. You will be notified as soon as possible if you have won an award. Only winners will be notified due to the amount of applications received.
