Nem5 Awards Program Judging Staff General Guidelines
General Requirements

Judges are asked to link to this site with the appropriate
graphic.
|
| 2. |
|
Membership is limited to 10 L1 and 10 F1 judges. There is currently
no limit on the amount of L2 or Q1 judges that may work with this
program.
|
| 3. |
|
Membership is permanent unless judge resigns or upon failure
to meet duties.
|
| 4. |
|
All issues that restructure the methods of reviewing Nem5
Web Maggic Awards will be decided by majority vote. In
case of a tie vote the Program Director will be the deciding vote. All
judges are encouraged to attend meetings. All judges not attending meetings
must cast votes on each issue by email ballot. |
| 5. |
|
All Judging Staff positions are currently voluntary |
Director and Chairman Duties
| 1. |
|
In the event a site does not receive enough reviews for monthly
awards within 70 days of initial nomination, the order of deciding award
will be as follows:

L2 judges will be asked to review
site |
| b. |
Director and Chairman will be responsible
for casting final review scores. |
|
| 2. |
|
Assuring applications are listed for review by all judges |
| 3. |
|
Notification to all judges of change to any award process |
| 4. |
|
Notification to winners of nomination or award |
| 5. |
|
Posting winners on the site |
| 6. |
|
Keeping the award process moving in a timely fashion |
| 7. |
|
Final decision for all awards |
| 8. |
|
In event of an emergency the chairman will assume directors duties. |
Q1 - Qualification Judging Duties
| 1. |
|
Qualification judges review sites for compliance with the first 21
points of criteria only. |
| 2. |
|
Qualification judges have the authority to disqualify any site that
does not score all 21 points numbered 1-21 of the criteria.
|
| 3. |
|
Qualification judges require training on these points only and do
not need to pass scoring tests. |
| 4. |
|
Qualification judges may not review sites as L1 judges. |
Prescreen Judging Duties
| 1. |
|
Every site will be reviewed by at
least one Prescreen judge before the site is placed into the queue for
review by other judges. |
| 2. |
|
Prescreen judges have the authority to disqualify any site that does
not score all 21 points numbered 1-21 of the criteria.
|
| 3. |
|
Prescreen judges have the authority to disqualify any site that does
not achieve a minimum score of 60 from the set criteria points and a
minimum score of at least 78 total points, including extra points. |
| 4. |
|
Prescreen judges are L1 Judges who have more training and display
an excellent understanding of all the requirements of earning all awards
from this program. |
L1 - Level One Judging Duties
| 1. |
|
L1 judges are required to review 5 websites per week from the
list of sites that have applied for this awards program based on the
criteria and rules in place on this site. |
F1 - Flash Design Judging Duties
| 1. |
|
F1 judges may review sites as L1 judges. However, this is not
mandatory. Scores from F1 judges will be added to the total of all site
reviews. |
| 2. |
|
F1 judges are required to review Flash sites that have achieved a
score of 78 and 3 nominations for Flash from L1 judges |
| 3. |
|
F1 judges must show a basic knowledge of Flash programming. |
| 4. |
|
F1 Chairman must show proficiency and excellence in the use and implementation
of Flash. |
| 5. |
|
F1 Chairman will be the deciding vote in case of a tie or in the
event no other F1 judges are available. |
L2 - Level Two Judging Staff Positions & Duties
| 1. |
|
L2 judges may review sites as L1 judges. However, this is not mandatory.
Scores from L2 judges will be added to the total of all site reviews. |
| 2. |
|
L2 category technical judges are required to review sites that have
achieved a score of 78 and 3 nominations for Awards of Excellence from
L1 judges. |
| 3. |
|
Several positions are available to L2 staff. They include, but are
not limited to:
| a. |
|
Site Scout - Nominate high quality new sites
for awards program. |
| b. |
|
Public Relations - Promotion of Nem5 Awards
Program within the Internet community. |
| c. |
|
Language Translation - Review sites not written
in English for appropriate content. Correspondence with same sites. |
| d. |
|
Advisory Positions - Review specific sites
for Awards of Excellence categoric criteria. Categories include: Art,
Music, Writing and Technical Merit. |
|
Award Levels
| 1. |
|
Level 1 Award - Annual Awards. Will be reviewed and determined by an impartial
panel of judges who do not hold full-time judging positions on the Nem5
Judging Staff.
Site of the Year winners will be chosen from monthly winners of the Nem5 Web Maggic Award. Category winners for Annual Awards of Excellence will be chosen from the annual list/s of category winners. If winners are not available or no longer meet the requirements the award/s for that year will not be granted. *Method ammended for 2005 and later winners. Annual winners list during
2004 and before did not use this method for choosing winners.

Level 2 Award - 3 nominations are required for a Nem5 Web Maggic
with total scores from all judges reviewing site averaging 78 or above
to win. *Method ammended for February 2005 and later winners. Winners list during
2004 and before did not use this method for choosing winners.

|
Other Awards - 3 nominations are required for an Award of Excellence
with total scores from all judges reviewing site averaging 78 or above
to win. *Method ammended for February 2005 and later winners. Winners list during
2004 and before did not use this method for choosing winners.
