February - Gold, Design, Commercial, Flash Design, Kids, Creativity Best Flash Site of 2002 Planet Twinkie Lookandfeel was tasked with creating a “fresh” site for Hostess that was easy to update, but very unique. In response, lookandfeel created a site the was not only updateable, but actually redesigns itself automatically throughout the year. Each visit to Planet Twinkie will be different as the atmosphere constantly evolves to illustrate the time of day, month and season. For example, during a summer day, the landscape of Planet Twinkie will appear bright and cheery with vibrant flowers and colorful butterflies. A winter night will feature a starry sky and trees capped with snow. February - Silver, Design Best Design of 2002 3DOLOGY 3dology specializes in product, mechanical and structural design. They offers wide range of services, all related to 3d techn-ology. Purpose of this site is to present theirs capabilities. 3dology recently expanded theirs services to architectural visualizations. Targeting this community was major objective when designing site interface and navigation. "Content before interface" was name of the game. Targeting not web design community, but traditional architectural businesses (many of them without web presence) navigation was another major challenge. Making it as clear as possible without getting into boring html style "buttons". How to present on Internet complex 3d CAD drawing having option to zoom in/out and even animate it - and most important, not to discriminate peoples using low speed connection? Easy answer - Flash. I was able to take complex CAD drawings and transform them to flash interactive images or animations in industrial and entertainment design section of 3dology gallery.
